A key feature of xDIM™ Mobile Dimensioning software is the Legal for Trade, independent third-party certification. This is a huge bonus for companies operating in states where this certification is required, but also benefits companies who establish the cost for services or hire on the basis of a measurement.
NTEP, the National Type Evaluation Program, was developed by the National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM) and the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST). NTEP is a committee that develops and enforces the requirements and process to gain NTEP Certification. The certification ensures all requirements are met and have been tested and approved by NTEP. The purpose of the certification is to confirm to the supplier and consumer that the dimensions provided are accurate and reliable. Additionally, the certification helps prevent a customer being overcharged and the supplier from undercharging from an inaccurate measurement.
Having successfully qualified for Trade, xDIM can legally be used for selling, purchasing, exchange, custody transfer, or establishing the cost for services or hire on the basis of a measurement.
