MobileDemand's rugged tablet features sunlight-readable display

From TabTimes: Off-the-shelf tablets just won’t do for many scenarios like the military, the factory floor and other environments where more ruggedized models are needed. The latest from MobileDemand also sports an advanced display.

MobileDemand’s xTablet T7200, is a 7-inch ruggedized Windows Tablet with 4G LTE and 3G Gobi 3000 connectivity options.

The tablet meets Military 810G standards for drops and shocks and has an IP65 sealant rating to protect against water and dust.

The company says the dual-core, Intel Atom-powered tablet is designed for any environment including transportation, field service, food and beverage distribution, manufacturing, warehousing, military and public sector.

The 7” high resolution touch screen display features MobileDemand’s xView Pro technology with a reflective mode for enhanced viewing in the most intense sunlight and a back-lit transflective mode claimed to be better than other displays for viewing in low light or indoor conditions.

Other specs include a built-in numeric keypad, optional bar code scanner, 802.11a/g/n Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0 and optional 4G LTE or 3G Gobi 3000 radio WWAN connectivity.

MobileDemand President Matt Miller said the new xView Pro display technology also significantly conserves battery life, which is a key issue for field workers.

The xView Pro display system has automatic light sensing capability that lets it read the ambient light levels and adjust the backlight down or even off to provide optimum visual performance while minimizing power usage.

The xTablet T7200 also supports multiple security options such as the built-in Smart Card (CAC) Reader.
