What is a C1D2 Tablet?

C1D2 Overview

Class 1 Division 2 (C1D2) is a certification issued to a specific product that allows it to be used in potentially hazardous environments. Examples of hazardous work settings include locations where flammable or explosive gasses, certain chemicals, airborne fibers and vapors could be excessive under abnormal circumstances.

Rugged C1D2 Tablets

When a tablet is certified as a Class 1 Division 2 (C1D2) product, it ensures the device under abnormal circumstances is deemed safe to operate within a specific hazardous environment. This means under a worse-case scenario, a malfunctioning tablet will not ignite the substance around it causing a fire, explosion or other catastrophe.

MobileDemand offers several rugged tablets that are certified C1D2 including the xTablet T1200 and xTablet T7200. The company has an excellent track record of tablet installations within manufacturing, oil/mining and many other hazardous environments.
